The Jungle Giants 30:03:14

The Jungle Giants / Millions / ShortStraw
(All Photo of Band members where taken by Brodie)
6:00 am alarm went off and excitement filled my bones, today is the day; round two of The Jungle Giants! Running to wake the photographer up (Brodie) we got ready to catch the train. Chucked on some clothes and packed my bag we where on the train with a hop and a skip. We met Kat on the train who you may remember from one of my very first posts who was also bursting with excitement as it was her first JG gig. On our arrival to the Vally the rain God's decided it would chuck it down, so we suited up (poncho style) and headed over to the line. There was about eight other girls in front of us holding umbrellas and shivering from the rain. Kat and I went and got coffees' and muffins from the super Rad Flamingo Cafe while Brodie stayed in line. Keelan walked in and had breakfast with his girlfriend while Katrina was fan girling next to me we left him in peace to enjoy his food.Walking back to the line I could see an array of colorful ponchos and umbrellas, only four more hours to go in the gloomy weather. Making friends with the girls next to us from the Sunny Coast (Hi if your somehow reading this) made the time fly faster. Samantha, Lach, Woody and Ashley arrived at 10:30 am ish and joined us in our spot in the line. After the weather had picked and chosen from its down fall to sun it was finally the time for a race for a good spot. Ponchos few off and brollies everywhere, scanned our ticket and ran straight for the stage. Front and to the right was our position of choice; now the wait for the bands.

ShortStraw were first, excited chatter filled the lounge as the band began to play. 'Coach Potato' first up and small movements covered the crowed as people bopped and swayed to the beat. They continued to play other songs 'bikini weather', and 'Good Morning,Sunshine' (my personal favorite) and created the energy for the next act; Millions. I told the Keyboardist (comment if you know his name!) that I loved their set and that they should do another tour as he was packing up and he told me that I they where surprised i knew who they where. Millions where up and there all white attire was effective. All long brown haired but Dominic Haddad the lead singer. I had Campbell  right in front of me who is the Bass Guitarist. A few Excited fans in the crowed let out a cry as they begun with playing new songs. They played all but 'Guru' which was upsetting as it is my favorite one of theirs. Dominic's voice is sweet like cinnamon and he has a charismatic presents about him on stage. Singing to fans in the crowd and staring off into the abyss of people while he sung. While packing up I had a quick conversation with Campbell about how well they played and he called me awesome, It not every day you get called 'awesome' by one of the band members of Millions. Music played waiting for The Jungle Giants to come on, I could see them backstage right next to Brodie while he spoke to me about his shots.  People setting up their gear on stage, it was close to show time.

Screams filled the room as they jumped on stage. Girls behind me pushing and pulling to get closer to them. Phones pulled from everyone's pockets and pressing the red button to record. Playing Mr. Polite first the crowd screaming the lyrics. Andrew jumping like crazy in front of me and as the songs went on showered us with sweat and water. Having a cheeky conversation with him in between songs about how hot it was and him generously passing out his water to us all. It was like having a huge dance party with your friend. Sams voice spot on as per usual and Cesira being as cool as ever, they played through the songs. My favorite being 'The Truth May Hurt.' Jumping, Dancing, boogieing and singing it all sadly came to their final song - 'She's a Riot.' After the show I went and met Three of the band members of Millions (all but the lead) and got a photo and they signed my CD for me. Not worrying to line up and meet TJG as we did last time, but instead heading off to our train. Once again such an astonishing afternoon filled with laughter, sweat and sore calf muscles. Always living for live music.

Thank you for reading my post you can see the video I made here. Leave a comment and tell me what you think, did you go ?

Street Style FW14

Fashion week is something I have been dying to go to ever since I started watching Fashion TV, But the one thing I adore the most other than the runways is the " Street Style ".  I love street wear videos and the concept of street wear in general. I have come across a few videos which are super cute and manifest's the different styles all over the world at the moment (as fashion is always chopping & changing) Above I have linked Vimeos' from street wear in Milan, Paris and New York. What do you think of street wear? Its nearly the weekend - Hang in there !

Black & Tulle

Top : Topshop // Skirt : Thrifted // Boots: Doc Martians

Me in a tulle skirt? Only if its paired with mounds of black of course. My Nanna gave me this skirt one day and I looked at it as if to say " really? " but had to reply with " thank you so much ! I love it." We all have these moments don't lie! As much as I had my dough's on the skirt when I got it; it is a really fun piece to style and I feel like a delicate little flower in it. I haven't had the guts to wear it in public yet but I think it would be perfect for a girls night out! Its dainty yet you can style it with edge and I like that. What are your thoughts? Tulle or no tulle?

Blogger interview / Yecrad

Hi all, hope you are all well! Today I had the pleasure of interviewing another blogger Darcey. If you have no clue who i am talking about you are missing out! From her groovy style to her thoughts her blog has it all.

I am: Darcey, a sixteen nearly seventeen year old Melbourne blogger.

I started Blogging because: i was extremely bored, i had been playing around on tumblr for a few years and wanted something more. when i first started i had no direction and posted once every few months. I didn't know much about fashion and hadn't quite worked out my own style.

One thing I can't live without is: my asthma pump (duh) and lipstick. lipstick just makes everything better, especially ones of the obnoxiously bright variety. although at the moment I am obsessed with Lorde and have my eye on this dark plum shade by MAC.

If I had to describe my style I would say: dishevelled chic hahaha but in saying that my style changes all the time, as cliche as it sounds, I don't think you can put a label on it.

My style icons are: Xiao Wen Ju, her street style is impeccable. Phoebe Tonkin, she always rocked and Eloise Jaksic, who works at Shakuhachi as their main PR girl and is the owner of my dream wardrobe.

my wardrobe essentials are: my black cheap Monday jeans, they make me feel like an Olsen twin. my black cutout ankle boots, they are on their last legs, the sole is blu tacked on hahah i think it's time they go. and also my white birks, they are slippers in disguise as Jesus sandals, they are all I want and more in a shoe.

When I finish school I hope to be: overseas on my gap year and then be studying either communications/pr/media/advertising at Uni in Melbourne or Sydney. Hopefully my blog will have a respectable following and I will be able to go to some cool fashion shows while on my gap year.

What I'm loving right now is: LORDE AND TAVI. I am so late to jump on their bandwagon but I am in love. I got tickets to Lorde's Melbourne show, I haven't been more excited since Wang's debut show for Balenciaga.

Music to me is: a way to connect people. Some of my closest friends were made because we shared a mutual love for the same type of music. Not only is music a rad way to bring people together, it has the ability to make me feel cooler than I actually am. Win win.

The first concert I went to was: 360 (during my Australian hip hop loving phase) It was terrifying, I was in year seven.

A quote I love is: "To wish you were someone else is to waste the person you are" because I feel like so many people our age just yearn to be someone else or someone that they aren't and I feel like everyone just need to love themselves (I was Oprah in a past life)

lipstick or lip gloss? LIPSTICK - see question 3

If I had to wear one colour for the rest of my life it would be: black Because I know I wouldn't get sick of it.?

This interview was: my very first being the interviewee, I had loads of fun.

Desires / March

Topshop t shirt / Pull Bear white shirt, $13 / Warehouse faux fur coat, $75 / Topshop pants /Pink socks, $18 / Platform shoes, $180 / New balance shoes / Witchery fedora hat, $63 /Mink Pink round sunglasses / Topshop red lipstick / Marc Jacobs fragrance, $86
Hi all, hope your all doing well. I am in the middle of a reconstruction for my blog. New segments + posts and I am thinking of redesigning the current layout. Any who on to my March desires and wants for this month, it seams as though I have gone a little mad and put everything into one! I feel really inspired with my fashion lately but don't have the wardrobe to do so. Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm really loving the rave about New Balance trainers, I think they look cool when you need to dress down an outfit and they are comfy. The Windsor Smiths new Heavens' are insane and im dying waiting for them to be on sale. What more could you want with a black chunky boot! Bold and bright lips is a must have for me as the majority of the clothing that i wear is indeed  black and I think an orange lip would be a perfect colour for the job.

I am in need of some more funky printed tees and jeans as mine are all faded and have sadly been taken a trip to the charity bin. These pieces look fun to style. If you haven't already smelt the new Marc Jacobs fragrance your missing out! Its smells as though thousands of fairy's have gathered lollies and melted them into a liquid that smells as though it is edible ! Go sniff it ! I have been on the hunt for THE perfect fur jacket but sadly I haven't found the one yet, but never the less I will find one! What is on your wish list? I would love to know!
